2. What this website does — and does not do

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers, and stores nothing on your device. Our fonts and scripts are served from our own server, and no third-party scripts, maps or social feeds are embedded.

3. Data we process

All four forms are processed through Netlify Forms, so the entries are stored on Netlify’s infrastructure and forwarded to us by email. Netlify may check entries for spam. Entering your details in a form is voluntary; we only use what you type in.

4. Why we use your data

We use your data to answer your requests and inquiries, to tell you when we open (only if you signed up), and to run and secure this website. Our legal bases are your consent (opening signup), the preparation of a contract (table requests and catering and wholesale inquiries) and our legitimate interest in a secure website (server logs).

5. How long we keep it

We keep signup emails until we have told you about the opening or until you ask us to delete them. Table requests and inquiries are kept as long as needed to answer them and for ordinary business records. Server logs are kept by Netlify according to its own retention periods.

6. Who receives your data

Our hosting and form provider is Netlify, Inc., which also delivers the photos on this site. Data may be processed on servers outside Switzerland, including in the USA. Where this happens in countries without an adequate level of data protection, it relies on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your data.

7. External links

The site links to WhatsApp, Instagram and Google Maps. Those services only receive data from you once you click the link, and their own privacy policies apply.

8. Your rights

You may ask us for access to your data, for correction or deletion, object to processing, withdraw a consent you gave, and ask for your data in a portable format. Contact us by post at the address above, by phone or by email at eliah@arwacafe.ch. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), edoeb.admin.ch, or, if you live in the EU, to your local data protection authority.

9. Changes

We may update this policy, for example when we add new features to the site. The date at the top shows the latest version.
